This nationwide initiative is alive and well in Kapiti with groups currently operating in the Kapiti area (Waikanae-Paekakariki). With a stated national aim to make our homes, streets, neighbourhoods and communities safer and more caring places in which to live it is clearly appropriate for the Kapiti Neighbourhood Support network to come under the support umbrella of the Kapiti Safer Community Trust and can be seen as an excellent way in which to both increase community spirit/awareness and reduce neighbourhood crime.
